An Inspired Journey

 An Inspired Journey

As I sat there relaxing in my favourite chair I started to let my thoughts drift. I needed to escape from the strains and stresses of life. My thoughts slowly became calm and still, like a motionless lake. Nothing stirred, not a sound, then I heard them, them being the birds singing merrily to each other. Upon hearing these wonderful sounds I decided to look around. I found myself standing at the edge of a large wood. I turned to observe the beauty of this natural wonder, I then saw him. The mighty oak standing proud, growing close by were several tall pines, each standing tall and strong as if they were his guards. At the foot of this immense life force stood many young saplings, representing new life and growth each one reaching out for life’s peace. I could feel the strength, the energy that was radiating from all the life in the wood. A few moments passed as I absorbed the feeling of strength, peace and purpose. The purpose of life, the purpose of peace, I then slowly turned away from the wood. In front of me was a field of wondrous colour, beckoning me forward. Such peace, such an open peaceful place I thought and felt. I felt the peacefulness flowing through me, becoming part of me. Amongst the natural green grass I saw daffodils dancing in the breeze, yes the breeze, I could feel the coolness, the pureness and freshness against my skin. The breeze gave me a feeling of cleanliness throughout my mind, body and spirit. The daffodils danced to and fro, their trumpet like heads seemed to hum a sound of calmness a sound of peace. All around the sweet aroma of life caressed and calmed. I strolled a little further, a little further on my journey. Within me I had a feeling of life, a feeling of inner peace. Into my view came bouncing, playful lambs. It was a marvellous to see such energy, such life. So graceful they looked as they leapt about, not a care in the world. Now and again stopping to consume the fresh grass underfoot. I felt so calm, so peaceful and happy that I had ventured upon a journey of such peace, a journey where peace reigns. I watched a little longer before pausing to rest, I settled myself upon the cool green grass. As I settled I felt the sensation of freshness flow through me, the freshness of life as I lay upon this natural carpet of life. Above me the birds dashed about the blue sky, like jet planes, with precise movements. So great they must feel high up there and free. Into my view floated white clouds, these clouds were so pure and so peaceful to watch. I lay there watching, absorbing the natural beauty of life, my eyes grew heavy and eventually closed…….. The next time I opened them I was back, back in my favourite chair..
