What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of healing that is carried out through inducing an altered state of awareness. Whilst in the controlled altered state, known as hypnosis, specific suggestions that are based on the desired result of the client are spoken out a loud by the Hypnotherapist.

The benefits of hypnotherapy have become fully recognised by those who search for a positive improvement of themselves and of their lives. With the help of hypnotherapy you can take control of your life and make those positive changes to those areas of your life that cause you anxiety or stress. The list of challenges hypnotherapy can help with is long and varied but a lot of the common ones include; stress, weight loss anxiety, panic attacks, fears and phobias, unwanted habits and addictions such as smoking, overeating, alcoholism, poor sleep patterns, confidence issues and low self-esteem. What happens during a session of Hypnotherapy?
At the start of the session, following your consultation, you will be asked to make yourself comfortable on the couch or in a chair. Your Hypnotherapist will then talk you into a nice relaxing altered state, you will be in control all of the time. During the hypnosis you will be able to move around, much like when you are a sleep, any movement won’t disturb you. You will hear any noises within or outside the building but these won’t disturb you as you’ll find it easy and relaxing just listening to the Hypnotherapist voice. Once in a totally relaxed state your Hypnotherapist will continue with the session and help you make the positive changes you desire, this is often done by using words from a Hypnotherapy script. These scripts are often, as in the case at the TSL, written personally for each client. During the session, even if you believe you are a sleep you will hear everything that is important to you, you will remember subconsciously all the positive actions that you require. At the end of the session you will come out of hypnosis feeling calm, positive and fully alert.
